An annual event that is focused on family and fun. In partnership with the City of Avon, Avon Fire Department and community businesses, this event is a way to get to know your community.
Avon Police Department is proud to be part of this event which allows people to get a sneak peek into our police officers, specialized units, vehicles and gear.
We also participate in Kid Print. This is free of charge for Avon residents and provides parents/guardians with an ID card for your child(ren). We suggest you update this card yearly.
This year this event will be held on September 9, 2023, see you there!
BBQ with the Blue
The Avon Police Department hosts BBQs throughout the year at the communities park facilities. In conjunction with the City of Avon Parks Department, as well as local sponsors, this event helps increase the partnership with the community. Please check back for the announcement of the dates and locations for 2023.
The
drug overdose epidemic in the United States is a clear and present public health, public safety, and national security threat. The DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day reflects the commitment of the DEA, Lorain County and Avon Police Department, to community health and safety. This event encourages our community to remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and the onset of opioid addiction.
This event happens twice a year in the months of April and October.
