The Avon Police Department will begin the process of obtaining and training a new K-9 officer in the near future. These dogs, typically born in Germany and trained for approximately two years prior to placement, cost thousands of dollars. The Lion's Club donated $5,000 to help cover the cost of the four legged cop.
On April 9 Mayor Bryan Jensen and Police Chief Richard Bosley attended the Lion's monthly meeting and accepted the donation gratefully.
Police dogs hare extremely helpful in tracking criminals, uncovering illegal drugs, harmful substances, and search and rescue missions.
Thanks, Lion's members!
