Avon Tree Commission

Overview

The Tree Commission of the city of Avon was established by Ordinance No. 70-21, and consists of 7 members, all of whom are Avon residents, and a certified arborist.

Purpose

The function of the Tree Commission is to study, advise and encourage the adoption and then implementation of a comprehensive plan for the proper planting of new and replacement trees and maintaining the health of existing trees in the urban forest.  The Tree Commission will also provide resource materials and information pertaining to proper tree selection and care.


SAVE THE DATE:   Nov. 5, 2022   ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION 

While Arbor Day is normally celebrated in April, the city of Avon has designated the first Saturday in November as its Arbor Day.  November was chosen because fall is the best time to plant trees.

New Notice: The Arbor Day Committee will meet on Wednesday, July 20, at 7:30 PM at Avon City Hall in the Caucus Room.  The agenda will be Arbor Day schedule and activities.
